A Little More About Us
Roaming Bird Ranch began long before there was land to fence or a name on a gate — it began with two people shaped by the outdoors, guided by curiosity, and rooted in a deep love for place.
I’m Emily, and from the time I was young, my world revolved around animals and open space. I grew up riding horses competitively, spending long days at the barn, in the saddle, or caring for any animal that would let me. If it had four legs, feathers, or fur, I wanted to know it, care for it, and understand it. Most of my days were spent outside, learning responsibility, patience, and grit the way only animals and hard work can teach you. No matter where life took me, I always felt a steady pull back to Montana — a sense of belonging I could never quite shake.
Before returning home, I spent over a decade as a business owner alongside my mom and partner, Annie, running Cowboys & Angels Boutique. Building that business taught me invaluable lessons about craftsmanship, community, and the importance of doing things with intention. But after ten years, I knew it was time to listen to that quiet voice calling me home — to the land, the horses, and the life I could hang my hat on.
Patrick’s story runs just as deeply in the outdoors. He grew up on a small farm and orchard, where curiosity was encouraged and the natural world was part of everyday life. From an early age, he developed an insatiable desire to explore — to see what lay around the next bend in the trail or beyond the horizon. That curiosity carried him across the country, hiking, biking, and paddling his way through much of the United States. He has a deep respect for the land and an understanding of the rhythms of nature that comes from time spent moving through it, not rushing past it.
When we eloped in Montana in August of 2020, Patrick fell in love with the place the same way I always had — quietly, deeply, and completely. The rivers, mountains, and wide-open skies felt like home to both of us, and not long after, we made the move permanent.
Today, Roaming Bird Ranch is the culmination of all of our dreams. We’re thoughtfully building a life rooted in hard work, creativity, and stewardship of the land. While the long-term vision for the ranch continues to take shape, our online storefront offers a curated collection of tack, apparel, boots, and gifts for fellow horse people and outdoor enthusiasts.
I also handcraft sterling silver jewelry and create one-of-a-kind hats, each piece inspired by the land, the animals, and the life we’re building here. Creating with my hands has always been second nature — a way to tell stories, preserve tradition, and bring beauty into everyday use.
At its heart, Roaming Bird Ranch is about more than products. It’s about connection — to the land, to tradition, and to the people who share these values. We love to entertain, to gather, and to share the journey as it unfolds. As we continue to build, grow, and dream, we invite you to follow along and be part of this story.
